I bought this cute puzzle project for my 3 year old and I to do together. I knew it may be too hard for her to help with when I bought it but I figured she could do her best to help me. I wanted it to be a hands on learning puzzle in a way before her fun task of painting came into play. Unfortunately, I'm not sure if we got a bad one perhaps or if this model in particular is just cut slightly off. It was fairly hard to build as the parts didn't want to go into the slots. I was forced to use a mallet on some spots and worried I'd break the Tiger. This could have been a miscut or user error as it was my first time building one of these and the unicorn model I bought for her sister was much easier to build. Pros -- Can be fun to watch it come together- Can instill a sense of pride once built- Is fun to paint- It's a lasting keepsake if you desireCons -- Possibly too hard for most younger children (9 and below)- Little variation in color palette to paint with- Directions are a bit vague if you don't already have experience in building these kinds of toys All in all though, I definitely recommend this product to others and other parents. It was a mostly enjoyable experience.Fun project for my four year old granddaughter. She really enjoyed painting all the pieces but there could have been about 50% more of all the paints. Assembly wasn’t too difficult but a little much for a four year old.I bought this to build with my 8 year old daughter. I'm not sure how easy it would have been for her to do by herself, but with my guidance she did great. The pieces are easy to remove from the packaging, and they fit together very well. All in all, my daughter had a great time working on this together. The one knock I have is the paint colors included in the kit. After looking at the box, my daughter wanted to paint her lion like it appeared on the box. But there was no brown paint, and only a bright yellow paint. I suppose we could have mixed colors to get what we wanted, but it would have been nice to have those colors included. Its a cute activity. It takes some time to work on, which i think is good. Some of the pcs were hard to push out tho, and u definitely need to watch out for the wood dust/shards. They give you a small samd paper to smooth the edges but its when they take the pcs out that can be dangerous. Overall, i like the activity. Just be careful for ylunger children.Built this with my 7 year old, as the age of 5+ is inaccurate, even I had some trouble reading the tiny Ikea-like directions. It would be great to have the wooden pieces labeled and better instructions so that a child could put it together. Anyway, we had fun finding the pieces and putting together the lion. Once in place, all the pieces fit firmly together for painting. The paint dries quickly which is great and is washable. Great gift idea!Fun quarantine activity for me and my two children to do together. My 7 year old need some help and my 9 year old was able to build this largely on her own with some simple guidance from me on the picture directions. We liked this because it took time to build it and then they had a blast painting them. Sturdy and fun activity that we would definitely purchase again. My Granddaughter enjoyed putting it together and painting it.I wish the pieces had reference numbers on them like similar laser cut models. we wrote them on in pencil. There was not enough paint, and you had to mix your own colors... it was a learning experience for the kids to make orange and brown from primary colors. All in All she LOVEs her Lion.It was a little too difficult for my 7yo to assemble, but the painting was fun for her. It is sturdy & looks nice assembled. Paint colors left a little to be desired. My little lion lover was satisfied with it & it made for a nice rainy day project.
